How can you get involved with Volharding?

As a community-centric project, Volharding will rely on the support of volunteers, crew, and individuals interested in getting involved in the maintenance, running, and operation of her as an active sailing vessel. We would welcome anyone who has an interest in getting involved which can be anything from promoting her as a platform for local groups and charities to crewing and more. This can include:

• Volunteering to support the upkeep and maintenance of Volharding and learning new skills essential to the maintenance of a historic ship such as painting, ropework, rigging, and more.

• Crewing on trips - those with some experience or a willingness to learn would have the opportunity to join Volharding on certain trips and gain firsthand experience in running a working sailing vessel whilst at sea.

• Supporting Volharding’s wider mission to give opportunities to local charities, community groups, and those who otherwise may not have access to meaningful experiences on the water.

• Fundraising - we aim to provide financial support to groups who would like to use Volharding and make her as accessible as possible. With help by means of either sponsorship or donations of fundraising events on Volharding, we would like to make this happen whilst giving back to the local community.
