Volharding is a fully restored 120 year old, 85 foot, Ketch rigged Dutch sailing barge based in Oban, Scotland. Offering opportunities for people from all walks of life to experience adventures on the on the beautiful waters of the West Coast of Scotland
We offer support for community groups and organisations to create unique experiences on the water which leave a lasting positve impact for all involved.

Volharding operates on a not-for-profit basis from Oban. She provides a safe platform for local groups, charities, and individuals to experience the beauty of the Argyll and Bute region from the water with the goal of having a positive impact and contribution to people’s lives.
As a capable sailing barge with a rich history, she offers the opportunity for those who otherwise wouldn’t have to experience seamanship, sailing, and the abundance of natural beauty and wildlife the West Coast of Scotland has to offer. As a community-centric boat, we are also looking for volunteers to join us in offering long lasting experiences for others.
